Switzerland - Zurich

During the week in Germany, we spend a day in Switzerland to visit Zurich.

Generally, Zurich is a charming town due to its architecture, its cleanness, also because of the Limmat River and the Zurich Lake.

Let me tell you about two neighborhoods in Zurich. Bahnhofstrasse, it's basically a long street full of all kinds of expensive shops. I can't say that I appreciate to walk there. It really stinks money and people are quite snobbish, which is not really what I'm looking for this year. Then, it's obviously beautiful and deserves to be seen, for sure.

The second neighborhood, which I recommend you if you're in Zurich, is called Niederdorf, "Dörfli". It's in fact a part of the Old Town (Altstadt) of Zurich. The mood there is different, you can still smell the money, but less. You can find there some small and more affordable shops, several restaurants, cool cafés and bars. As it's pedestrian, it's really enjoyable to traipse.

Germany - Cologne

As our flight to Bangkok is from Cologne (Köln), we enjoy the city the day before. Evidently my first activity there is to drink the local beer, Kölsch, which is really good. I also learn, eating my Camembert rôti (I'm still French), at Früh am Dom near the Cathedral, that "good habits destroy the good food". So the old tradition, I hate, "wait until everyone has his food !" is not applicable there. After our dish and few cigarettes, we decide to hike the second highest Cathedral in the World (533 fucking stairs). It's from the Kölner Dom, after few minutes of agony, that I take the pic above of the wonderful view.

I definitely want to come back there and see more.
