Booking - https://www.booking.com - I guess it's known enough to spare you some explanations about the famous Dutch company. When we don't pick an accommodation on the spot, Tobias and me use kinda systematically Booking to find the place which matches with our expectations and our budget. As you may know, I worked for B. during few months in Lisbon, I could learn a bunch of things about the site and it's pretty soothing (if you also are a pessimistic&stressed person, you know what I mean).

Duolingo - https://www.duolingo.com - As learning foreign languages is tightly connected with travelling and living abroad, I add Duolingo to this list. If you want to start learning the basics of a language this website is what you need. Even though I'm seriously doubting that anyone could become fluent only using it, it's a really sweet beginning. (I personally try to learn German)

My French fellows I advise you to click on "Conseils aux voyageurs" and read about the country(-ies) you're planning to go with the section called "Consultez les conseils par pays".

Mosmore - https://mosmore.wordpress.com - This is an amateur travel blog kept by one of Tobias's friends met in Guatemala, and with who we spent a day in Bangkok, where she comes from. On her lively site, Mosmore, you'll probably discover things you've never seen before (especially food !) which will, for sure, give you an urgent need to try it.

Skyscanner - https://www.skyscanner.de - The platform to find the cheapest flight you need to go ... where would you like ? ... Cuba ? You can check and compare the prices of flights depending of the departure country (when like us, you live near a border it can be really interesting, especially with Germany), airport, and day within the month you picked. Ofcourse for short distance it's more responsible to travel by bus.

Uniplaces - https://www.uniplaces.com - We learned about this website in Lisbon when we had to search for an apartment, we randomly found it. As we knew our months in the Portuguese Capital were numbered, a strict contract didn't seem adapted to our situation. Then, came Uniplaces, it got us two apartments in something like 7 months. If you don't already know it, I advise you to check it, such an option can always make your life easier !

Work Away - https://www.workaway.info - If you'd like to volunteer abroad (or not abroad, choose for yourself !) this is a good way to search, alone or in duo you can apply everywhere around the world for very diverse jobs (gardening, housekeeping, teaching, building, ...).
