How we rescued a monkey (Break in the loop from Thakhek) - Part 3

As we said, once in Vientiane, we begin to contact some organisations of wildlife protection. They are mainly located in the capital.

Here are screen shots of our mails.

One of them answers us almost immediately. Happy to receive such a quick answer, we open the mail, full of hope.

And... it's half disappointed, half (still) full of hope that we read what they wrote us.

Seriously ? As if we bought this monkey with pleasure. What should we do when there is no authority to help us ? Should we pass by the monkeys, ignore it and send an email later to a far away organisation which maybe one day is going to do something ? Should we try to get them with "stealing", putting our own safety at risk ?

As we understood pretty well, this practice to go in the forest and catch wild animals to do all kind of illegal activities with, is widespread in the area where we found Alfi and the other poor monkey. Which is also the proof that no one takes care of it, as a lot of locals told us as well.

We are still waiting to be updated as we asked, but seeing the facebook page of the organisation, it seems like no action about our case was taken.

We are also waiting for some news about Alfi, that we'll share with you as soon as possible.
